We celebrated our 11th Wedding Anniversary at Walt Disney World, and for our Anniversary Dinner we took the monorail to the luxurious Grand Floridian and indulged at Narcoossee’s. This fine establishment requires a specific dress code and requires two Disney dining plan credits to cover the cost. It was well worth it.

The Grand Floridian is a grandiose and elegant palace. It is a literal island in the center of the Walt Disney World property lagoon. We felt so regal coming here for dinner, and being served by gentleman in long dress coats. Everything was so sophisticated we may have felt a little under dressed and out of place.
Family Hint: This place has a business causal dress code. Men must be in collared shirts, and no torn clothing, tank tops, or swimsuits are allowed.
At Narcoossee’s we feasted on crab cakes, lobster tails and filet mignon dipped in clarified melted butter and relished every last morsel. It was an exceptionally satisfying meal.
After dinner, we walked around the exterior balcony and watched the fireworks over Disney’s Magic Kingdom. It was beautiful and romantic, and felt like the fireworks were put on just for us. A short while after we were also able to get a front row view of the Electrical Water Pageant as it circled around the lagoon. This is such a fun under represented aspect of Walt Disney World that illustrates magic is around every corner, no matter how inauspicious.
► For Kids: Children are welcome to dine at Narcoossee’s, just like every restaurant at Walt Disney World. Is Palo the only place where children aren’t allowed? This is an upscale restaurant and you might get a few annoyed looks from patrons who expect unreasonable demands from a place that was literally built for kids. Just ignore them. Your children will feel so special coming here!
